Custom Packaging Boxes in South Africa
Gateway Print & Packaging manufactures custom printed packaging boxes for South African brands. Everything is produced locally at our Edenvale plant in Johannesburg and couriered nationwide, so there is no import lead time, no shipping surprise, and no minimum container to fill.
Why local beats importing
- Minimum 1,000 units instead of a full import container
- 10–12 working days from artwork approval, not 8–14 weeks at sea
- Priced in rands — no exchange-rate or duty exposure
- Physical proofs and samples before you commit to a run
- Reorders pull the approved dieline and colour target off file
Box types we produce
Folding cartons in tuck-end, crash-lock and sleeve styles; window-patched boxes; kraft and uncoated boxes; and premium boxes with hot foil, embossing, spot UV or soft-touch lamination. We also print matching product labels on the same order, which keeps colour consistent between box and label.
Board, sizes and minimums
Boxes run on 250–400gsm SBS, GC1 folding boxboard or kraft, including recycled and FSC-certified stocks. Lighter products sit on 250–300gsm; heavier or taller boxes need 350–400gsm. Every box is made to your own dimensions. Minimum order quantity is 1,000 units per design, and production runs scale to 250,000 units and beyond.
Nationwide delivery
We supply brands in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein, as well as customers in Namibia and Botswana. Delivery cost is included in your written costing so there is no surprise line item at invoice stage.
What to send for a costing
Box dimensions (or the product dimensions if you do not have a dieline yet), quantity, board preference, any finishes you want, and whether artwork is ready. That is enough for a firm written price within 24 working hours.
